Before you start cutting, put on your safety glasses and dust mask. Crown molding can create a lot of dust, so it's important to protect your eyes and lungs. Also, be sure to use a sharp saw blade. A dull blade will make it difficult to cut the molding cleanly, and it can also be dangerous.

Measuring and Marking the Molding

The first step is to measure and mark the molding. Determine where the crown molding will be installed, and measure the length of the space. Then, transfer the measurement to the molding and mark it with a pencil. Be sure to measure twice and cut once!

Cutting the Molding
