How to Build a Kitchen Storage Cabinet

Building a kitchen storage cabinet is a relatively easy project that can be completed in a weekend. Here are the steps on how to build a kitchen storage cabinet:

Materials You'll Need:

• 1 sheet of 3/4-inch plywood (4 feet by 8 feet)
• 1 sheet of 1/2-inch plywood (4 feet by 8 feet)
• 1 box of 1 1/4-inch wood screws
• 1 box of 2-inch wood screws
• 1 tube of wood glue
• 1 cabinet door
• 1 cabinet hinge
• 1 cabinet knob or handle
• Sandpaper
• Paint or stain (optional)

Tools You'll Need:

• Circular saw
• Table saw
• Miter saw
• Drill
• Countersink bit
• Clamps
• Measuring tape
• Level

Instructions:

Cut the pieces of plywood. The following are the dimensions for the pieces of plywood you'll need:

• Two sides: 24 inches tall by 12 inches wide
• Two shelves: 22 inches tall by 12 inches wide
• One back: 24 inches tall by 24 inches wide
• One top: 12 inches tall by 24 inches wide
• One bottom: 12 inches tall by 24 inches wide
• One door: 24 inches tall by 12 inches wide

Assemble the cabinet. Start by attaching the sides to the back. Then, attach the shelves to the sides.

Attach the top and bottom. Next, attach the top and bottom to the cabinet.

Attach the door. Finally, attach the door to the cabinet using the cabinet hinge.

Finish the cabinet. Sand the cabinet and then paint or stain it. Add a cabinet knob or handle to the door.

Your kitchen storage cabinet is now complete! Enjoy the extra storage space.
