1. Studs Location and Spacing

Locate steel studs using a stud finder and mark their exact positions. Ensure they are vertically aligned and spaced at 16 inches on center. This provides optimal support for the cabinets.

2. Mounting Blocks

Use 2x4 mounting blocks if there is a lack of studs in desired locations. Secure them to the studs using screws. These blocks will serve as anchors for the cabinets.

3. Rail Installation

Install a horizontal rail (typically 1x4) at the base and top of the cabinet opening. Level and secure it to the studs or mounting blocks using screws. This creates a solid base for attaching the cabinets.

4. Cab Frame Attachment

Insert cabinet frames into the opening and align them with the rail. Use self-tapping screws to secure the frames to the rail, ensuring they are level and plumb.

5. Fastening to Studs

Drive screws through the cabinet frames directly into the steel studs. Use at least three screws per side for each cabinet. Ensure they penetrate the stud by at least 1 inch for maximum stability.

6. Leveling and Alignment

After securing the cabinets to the studs, use a level to ensure they are perfectly horizontal and vertical. Adjust them accordingly by inserting shims or modifying the screws.

7. Toe-kick and Crown Molding

Attach a toe-kick to the bottom of the cabinets to conceal gaps and provide a decorative touch. Similarly, install crown molding at the top to enhance the aesthetics and provide a seamless finish.
